Please Note: This a full time, fixed term contract role for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The role of the Digital Content Assistant is to support the continuous improvement of the Group's external digital and social media channels, by helping to write engaging content. You will support the communications team ensuring that all our communications use plain English and maintains our People First approach. The role will help grow our online presence and make use of available, new and emerging technologies.
This is an 'agile' role whereby you will be given the tools to effectively do your role from home; however, there will still be some requirement to travel nationwide for meetings and collaborative workshops.

Take 1 is a leading transcription company delivering accurate and affordable services to clients throughout the world. We transcribe TV programmes and are currently looking for an experienced audio typist / transcriber to offer us transcription services on a freelance/work from home basis.
As an established audio typist/transcriber you will need to have:
- Audio typing experience
- A minimum typing speed of 80wpm
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills
- An excellent command of oral and the written English language
- Good knowledge of current affairs
- Ability to work to deadlines and understand the importance of doing so
- A minimum of 20 hours available per week
- Good IT skills
This freelance audio typist / transcriber opportunity provides an enjoyable, flexible way to work from home, typing a variety of interesting audio material. Fully supported remote familiarisation of our job specifications will be given.
Please note that the work is not suited to those who do not have audio typing experience or those already in full time employment.
Jobs are paid on a per runtime minute basis and range from 50K To 70K Pkr Per Month audio minute

Post 1: Tuesday-Wednesday (15 hours) Post 2: Wednesday afternoon, Thursday-Friday (18.5 hours)
This is a great opportunity to get involved with the archives of the Royal County. We’re looking for two people to help look after our visitors, respond to enquiries and support collections management.
Berkshire Record Office is run as a joint service by six councils: Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, and Wokingham. Our collections reflect these places as well as historical North Berkshire, which included towns like Abingdon, Wallingford and Wantage. Notable holdings include the archives of Broadmoor Hospital, the Thames Conservancy and Reading Prison.

About the role
The postholders will spend around half their time on duty in our reading room, answering enquiries remotely and face-to-face, providing copies and undertaking research. They will also create information about our collections, and package and store them. There is plenty of support available from colleagues to help you understand how to use and look after historical material.

About you

You don’t need any formal qualifications, but the post is suitable for those with a degree and who want to apply for a postgraduate qualification in archives.
