As a Store Associate you’ll be responsible for merchandising and stocking product, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You’ll enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service.
Position Type: Part-Time
Average Hours: Fewer than 30 hours per week
Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes customer purchases, perform general cleaning duties, stocks shelves and merchandise displays neatly
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their shopping experience
- Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to the store management team
- Provide feedback to management on all products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues
- Participate in taking store inventory counts according to guidelines and monitoring inventory for accuracy
- Adheres to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses
- Complies with all established company policies and procedures while upholding the security and confidentiality of documents and data
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk about the store
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications:
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
- Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to stay organized, give attention to detail, follow instructions and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
- Meet any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge

Position Summary
Columbia University Libraries seeks applications for a part time Library Assistant IV at Butler Library, Access Services Division.
SCHEDULE:
- Sunday 11:30 am - 7pm
- Monday 10 am - 2 pm
- Tuesday 10 am - 2 pm
- Friday 4 pm - 9 pm
Schedule may be different during intersession and summer terms. Schedule subject to change based on staffing needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an attentive and welcoming presence while charging, renewing and discharging library materials using Voyager, the library’s borrowing system. Retrieve books, DVDs, Reserve and other items from the back office shelves. Create and update unlinked item records in Voyager. Answer routine directional, general information and ready reference questions by patrons at the desk or on the phone.
- Answer questions about Reserve, DVD, Borrow Direct and ILL collections and services. Refer patrons to appropriate supervisor or staff as needed. Secure lost and found, and report problems to public safety.
- Open and close the service desk and Milstein reading rooms in Butler Library.
- Train new student employees to computer applications, policies, and procedures that support the circulation of materials; know basic organization of the stacks and general information about the processing of materials in other Access departments. Assist supervisors training new support staff.
- Processes print, electronic, and media collections for Reserves as well as collection maintenance routines for Reserves and Butler Media Collection.
- Provide coverage in other Access Services units, when required, and perform related duties as assigned, including shelving, book sorting, and shelf reading.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or its equivalent required.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Experience using computers in a work environment and facility using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to respond to customer-service via e-mail, telephone, and in-person in a fast-paced environment that deals with faculty, students, staff, administrators, and visiting library users.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Public service experience working in a library or research institution.
- Knowledge of an integrated library system, preferably Voyager.

WHAT WE WANT YOU TO DO:

- This role will be remote
- You will be required to work overnight, evenings and weekends, and at least 4 shifts during peak between 11/24 – 11/29
- Temporary seasonal role will last approximately 12-14 weeks
WHAT WE WANT TO SEE:
- Bachelor's Degree in communication or related field is preferred but not required
- A strong work ethic, top-notch written and oral communication skills, and high standards when it comes to customer service
- Online customer service experience, and working knowledge of Zendesk, Shopify and/or NetSuite is a HUGE plus!
