As an Operations Supervisor you will oversee the shift management in the station. Our Operations Supervisors drive the pulse of our operations on the ground and play a key role in getting our customers’ orders out to them in every step of the chain.
This is a varied, challenging role and every day is different!
You will…
- Create and cultivate a safe working environment by identifying safety opportunities across your work area
- Manage and train our Associates to help deliver the best service for our customers
- Ensure that customer orders are fulfilled in line with quality and safety guidelines
- Continuously provide critical shift related information to frontline management and operators
- Adjust labor allocation throughout your shifts to meet and exceed plans and forecasts
- Engage with support functions and/or other departments to address common issues or needs in key areas of performance e.g. process area readiness, 5S, safety, training
- Help to solve logistics and supply chain challenges through data analysis, innovation and process optimization

Post 1: Tuesday-Wednesday (15 hours) Post 2: Wednesday afternoon, Thursday-Friday (18.5 hours)
This is a great opportunity to get involved with the archives of the Royal County. We’re looking for two people to help look after our visitors, respond to enquiries and support collections management.
Berkshire Record Office is run as a joint service by six councils: Bracknell Forest, Reading, Slough, West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead, and Wokingham. Our collections reflect these places as well as historical North Berkshire, which included towns like Abingdon, Wallingford and Wantage. Notable holdings include the archives of Broadmoor Hospital, the Thames Conservancy and Reading Prison.
We can offer you a warm welcome into a small but dedicated team. Staff share an enthusiasm for Berkshire’s history and enjoy helping others discover it. We are based in a modern building just outside Reading town centre and open to the public Tuesdays-Fridays.

About the role
The postholders will spend around half their time on duty in our reading room, answering enquiries remotely and face-to-face, providing copies and undertaking research. They will also create information about our collections, and package and store them. There is plenty of support available from colleagues to help you understand how to use and look after historical material.

About you

- Good at communicating complex information
- Have an eye for detail, detective work and discovery.
You don’t need any formal qualifications, but the post is suitable for those with a degree and who want to apply for a postgraduate qualification in archives.

This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.

The Centre for English Language and the ISR are working together to set up an inhouse, online English language test (Proficiency Test in English for Academic Study) for incoming international students who are having difficulty accessing any external English tests (such as IELTS/ TOEFL). The test is designed by the CELE team to assess students’ ability to speak, write, listen, and read in academic English. The test will be available via the online shop to offer UoN holders only and will be available for home testing all year round.
We think this test will help a lot of international students in getting over the hurdles to pursue their studies with us, and hope this will be a popular offer. We are now calling for full time or part-time staff helpers to fill multiple test invigilator roles to help us to make the test secure and provide a good experience for the test takers. Would you like to help us and receive overtime 70K To 80K Per Month for your work?
Invigilators will:
- Undertake invigilator training
- Receive online exam booking confirmations from Exam admin and reports any concerns to them
- Conduct candidate ID check and access to exam
- Open Teams meeting for online exam
- Read scripted introduction to exam, keeps time, and announces end of exam
- Invigilate exam and reports back any concerns to exam admin
- Close exam
- Need to be prepared to work between Monday and Wednesdays- you will be asked to state your availability when registering interest here
- Interact with international students and provide them guidance before the test
- Be working from home
- Liaise with test administrators and test managers prior to the test and if/when any issues arise
